Women are more prone to several sport injuries than men based simply on bio-mechanical differences. The major difference is that a female's pelvis is wider than a male's. Sports Medicine experts have termed the difference in pelvic size the Q-Angle. This is the angle at which the femur meets the tibia. The wider an athlete's hips the more pronounced the angle is.
